Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Colonel series and Colonel Pro series?

  • The Colonel series (80L, 95L) is top-loading, comes with a detachable day pack and a 3 year warranty. The Colonel Pro series (90L, 105L) adds a front opening zipper, larger capacity options and a 5 year warranty. Both have metal frames and rain covers included.

Does the Colonel Pro 90L have an aluminium frame?

  • Yes. It has dual aluminium rods and a hard fibre board that keep the bag structured and distribute heavy loads evenly across your back and hips.

Does it come with a rain cover and where is it stored?

  • Yes. The rain cover is tucked inside the velcro pocket at the bottom of the rucksack. Pull it out as soon as it starts raining.

Can I carry this rucksack as cabin luggage on a flight?

  • No, at 90L this rucksack is check-in luggage only. When checking in, request special baggage handling at the counter as rucksacks have multiple hanging straps and need careful handling on the belt.

I am buying my first rucksack. Is the 90L too big for me?

  • If you are going on trips longer than 12 days or carrying your own tent and camping gear, 90L is justified. For organised treks of 5 to 10 days where camping equipment is provided, a 50 to 65L rucksack would be more practical and easier to manage.
